We’re thrilled to announce an upcoming Science of Reading Workshop on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, hosted at Miami Dade College. This in-person, practice-heavy session will equip educators of grades 3-12 with research-backed strategies that enhance literacy instruction.
Workshop Highlights
This hands-on session will cover:
- Fluency & Background Knowledge: Techniques to boost reading fluency and build essential background knowledge.
- Shared Reading & Writing Instruction: Effective approaches for shared reading and structured writing instruction that improve literacy outcomes.
Thanks to generous state funding, this workshop is available at a heavily subsidized rate of just $150 (a significant reduction from the usual $500+ cost).
Who Should Attend?
We encourage schools to send teams of 3-10 educators, including administrators, instructional leaders, and literacy teachers who champion a strong reading culture. This approach helps prepare schools for effective, whole-school implementation of the practices covered.
