On January 5, Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC), in partnership with the Florida Charter Schools Institute, will host an informational webinar to provide an overview of and answer questions about its Request for Proposals (RFP) for opening and operating a charter school on a PHSC campus. The webinar will summarize PHSC’s role as a higher education charter authorizer, its commitment to high standards, school autonomy, and protection of student and public interests, and the types of high-quality, mission-driven charter operators it seeks—particularly those with proven academic success, strong governance, and college-forward or workforce-aligned models. Participants will receive guidance on eligibility, preferred school designs, the multi-phase application review and approval process, key statutory and documentation requirements, submission expectations, and the timeline leading up to the January 16, 2026 application deadline, with ample opportunity to ask clarifying questions to support strong and complete submissions.
