On July 1, 2026 the Department of Education released information on how to comply with the “Classroom Teacher and Other Instructional Personnel Salary Increase Allocation.” This year, the state has set aside $1.56-billion to maintain and offer additional increases in compensation for public school staff.

School districts are required to submit their plans for these funds by October 1, 2026, and districts must include with their plans copies of all of their charter schools. Therefore, charter schools should expect that districts will be asking for their completed plans mid- to late-September in order to comply with this requirement.

Here are the documents released by the Department of Education:

FCI's Calculator

To help charter schools with the creation of these plans, we have created a calculator to help charter schools calculate the numbers required by the state for the plan. The calculator has been developed in Google Sheets. We strongly recommend that you use the Google Sheets version. The link below will create a COPY of the calculator in YOUR Google Drive account. You will be the owner of the file. FCI will not have access to your file, unless you grant us access after the fact.

Webinar

On __ at 12:30, the FCI will host a Q&A session to answer any questions about this calculator.   We will not spend much time reviewing how to use the tool, instead we will focus on Q&A, assuming that everyone has already reviewed the video above.
