High-quality Charter Schools

One of FCI’s tasks is to “Disseminate information regarding research-based charter school teaching practices to teacher educators in this state.”

As part of FCI’s long-range objectivesI, we will deliver a variety of training opportunities geared towards charter school leaders and teachers. Session topics will be determined based on recent study of the highest-performing charter schools and the national education landscape broadly. From there, FCI will determine what leadership and instructional practices are most effectively implemented.. To ensure we are applying this research to Florida, we will identify the highest-performing charter schools in the state, reach out to their leadership to conduct an informal assessment of their practices, and supplement these findings to what research says about best practices.

As part of identifying the best and brightest public charter schools and learning from their experience, FCI is a partner in the IMPACT Awards. These awards — sponsored by Building Hope, a non-profit agency that supports charter schools — recognize schools excelling in advancing education through community engagement, student empowerment, and educational innovation, as well as schools that are proven sustainable charter school models.
