On December 5th, 2024, leaders from the classical education community came together for something truly special—a day of shared insights, meaningful conversations, and the power of connection. The Classical Schools Leadership Forum, hosted by the incredible team at True North Classical Academy in Miami, FL, wasn’t just an event; it was an experience that reminded us all why we do this important work.
Finding Meaning in the Moments
The day began at the Gateway Campus, where we started with warm greetings and the opportunity to observe classrooms in action. Watching students and teachers embody the principles of classical education was more than inspiring—it was a reminder of the heart behind our mission: to cultivate minds and build character.
At the Sunset Campus, the journey continued with additional classroom visits. Seeing these environments brought to life the intentionality and care that go into creating a truly classical learning experience. Every interaction, every moment, told a story of dedication to shaping the next generation.
Learning, Sharing, and Growing Together
One of the highlights of the day was the session, “True North: Our Approach to Classical Education.” In this space, we were invited to explore the philosophies and strategies that have guided True North’s incredible success. It wasn’t just about hearing their story—it was about reflecting on how their values align with our own, and what we might take back to strengthen our schools and communities.
Lunch was a chance to sit down, connect, and simply be present with one another. These small but significant moments of connection reminded us that our greatest resource is often each other.
The Open Forum that followed was a powerful example of collaboration in action. Discussions ranged from legislative updates to teacher recruitment and retention, to building strong school cultures. These weren’t just abstract conversations—they were deeply practical and rooted in the real challenges and opportunities we all face.
