On Saturday September 7th, charter school leaders and governing board members from across Florida came together at the Florida Charter School Governance Conference, hosted by the Florida Charter Institute (FCI), for an inspiring and educational event. The conference offered valuable insights into effective school governance, legal compliance, financial stewardship, and the importance of community engagement.
The day was filled with engaging sessions and dynamic speakers who provided actionable strategies for school leaders. Sara Clements kicked off the conference with a powerful keynote on “,Charter School Innovation in the Wake of Expanded Parental Choice” sharing innovative ways charter schools can remain innovative within the new parental choice landscape. The closing panel discussion provided a robust discussion on pertinent topics that impact charter schools on a daily basis and provided tangible knowledge that school leaders and board members can implement to further their school’s missions. The conference was not just about learning—it was also a fantastic opportunity for networking and collaboration. Attendees connected with peers, exchanged ideas, and built relationships that will continue to strengthen the charter school community throughout the year.
With over 184 attendees, the conference was a great success, and we’re excited to carry forward the momentum and insights gained.
If you were unable to attend, don’t worry—we’ll be sharing key takeaways and resources from the event soon. Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to join us next year!
