The Florida Charter Institute at Miami-Dade College, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Education Office of School Choice, conducted three case studies to help identify positive practices and processes to share with Florida’s charter schools. The current set of profiles involved three distinctly different school types serving wide-ranging student needs. It is anticipated that similar work will continue as the team dives deeper into identifying exemplary features of schools providing services that meet the unique needs of students with exceptional needs.

You can find the current profiles at https://flcharterinstitute.org/research/ESEProfiles/.

The case study profiles will also be disseminated through the Department of Education’s Office of School Choice electronic Listserv. Please be on the lookout in your inbox so you can become familiar with the initial three case studies placing an intentional emphasis on the betterment of serving students with unique needs and abilities. We look forward to the possibility of featuring your school and programming in the near future. To take a deeper dive into the schools and related exceptional student education topics, please join us at the annual Florida Charter School Conference on November 19, 2024 @ 1:45 p.m. to gain insights from our esteemed panel of presenters for an interactive discussion regarding enhancing outcomes for students receiving ESE services.
