Applicable to grades 3-12, this practice-heavy Science of Reading Workshop will cover the critical role of background knowledge and fluency, building attention, creating community through shared reading, and the power of effective writing instruction in reading classes. (Please note that this session does not focus on K-2 phonics and decoding practices.)

- Date: November 5, 2024
- Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (with registration and breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m.)
- Location: Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus. Parking will be provided.
- Cost: $150 (typically $500+/day)
- Recommended Attendees:
- We recommend that schools bring teams of 3-10 teachers and administrators (principals, APs, instructional coaches, department leads, etc.) representing multiple placements when they attend, as this best supports future implementation in schools.
- Currently, registration is capped at 10 participants per school to ensure access for all those interested. If space is available as we approach session dates, we will open up additional seating.
- Meals: Light breakfast and lunch are included.
- New! Inservice Points: Participants will receive accredited certification of attendance at this workshop from the Doral Leadership Institute. This certification can be shared with your usual inservice liaison, who will input points toward certification.
