For the last several years the FCI Support Team (formerly the Charter Support Unit) has created a calculator to help charter schools complete the plans required by the Salary Increase Allocation. We have updated our calculator to incorporate the requirements for the 2026-27 school year, in which the state has set aside $1.56 billion to maintain and offer additional increases in compensation for public school staff.
Districts must submit their plans — including copies of the plans for all of their charter schools — to the Department of Education by October 1, 2026. Charter schools should expect their district to request completed plans in mid- to late-September.
Before this session, please watch the walkthrough video on the FCI website, which explains step by step how to use the calculator. Rather than re-reviewing the tool, this webinar will be a Q&A session focused on answering questions school leaders have about the calculator and the requirements.
The calculator, the walkthrough video, and related information — including the Department of Education memo, FAQ, plan templates, allocation amounts, and timelines — are available on the FCI website here: https://flcharterinstitute.org/document/2627sia/.

Teachers With Less Than Two Years Of Experience?
One of the questions asked during the webinar was whether teachers who had less than two years of experience need to be included. We did check the language from HB 5001-E and there is nothing in the statute about teachers with fewer than two years of experience this year. So they can be included if you have funds remaining after you given out funds to teachers “with at least ten years of full-time teaching experience in a Florida public school.”
